I have a piece of good news to share with all my beloved friends out there:
NTU HAS OFFERED ME THE NTU-NANYANG SCHOLARSHIP!
Butbut, I am still waiting for the NTU-STB one. See which has better offers.
Nanyang Scholarship:
The value of the scholarship shall cover the following:
Tuition fee payable by students (after
Tuition Grant)
Living allowance of $6,000 per academic year
Book allowance of $500.00 per annum
Settling allowance of $250.00 (once only)
Computer allowance of $1,500.00 (once only)
The Scholarship is awarded to you under the following terms and conditions:
The Scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of the University, your progress or behaviour has not been satisfactory.
You may not, without the approval of the President, hold concurrently any other award.
You are required to stay for at least one year in a hall of residence during your course of study and participate in university campus life.
You are required to take on the role of student ambassador, or any other similar role, representing the university to give publicity talks, to receive guests, etc, as and when you are called upon.
Sounds OK ? I dunno. Shld be right? Since it's bond-free.
I couldn't believe it when I saw that email. I thought all hope was lost after I have received the rejection letters from OCBC and Firefly. And NTU said that results will be out in end-May. I was like, "Darn. It's already the 30th.Forget it." and then came the email this morning. =)
Gotta work hard in Uni. I dun wanna disappoint my parents and everyone else.
And I really need to rest in July already, to go do the things I want to do. I feel that I have wasted 6mths of my life doing nothing, save for making money and having the occasional outings with friends. Bleah. But on the other hand, if I dun work, where the hell am I going to get the money to do the things I wanna do or buy the things I wanna buy? I was not born with a diamond-studded spoon in my mouth.
List of things to do before sch reopens:
1. Finish,or rather, start on the 1000 piece jigsaw I bought in NOV
2. Explore the little corners (eg. Little India,Arab st) in S'pore
3. Go visit the Zoo
4. Learn how to ride a bike (By hook or by crook)
5. Lose weight (hope to continue even after sch reopens. haha.)
6. Go overseas (HK, bangkok or Redang. JB not included. Haha)
7. Start volunteering
8. Colour my hair
9. Pack my room
10.Finish watching all my dvds
11.Learn some basic make-up skills
12.Buy my 1st ever digicam

Big Walk!

I went for the 1st ever TNP Big Walk of my life!
I diden know that S'poreans are that health-conscious and so enthusiastic about this annual event. We were super surprised to see so many people, both young and old, decked in the Big-Walk Tee in the wee hours of the morning.
I can't believe we walked 10km! We diden cheat at all, unlike some walkers who crossed over and U-turned halfway. Hoho. I felt a super huge sense of achievement the moment I reached the end-point. =) The Big Walk this year is quite a historic one as it would be the last Big Walk from the National Stadium. Heard that the stadium will be torn down to make way for a new stadium??
*sigh* Why are all things old and historic in S'pore revamped and altered?
We met up again in the evening to watch The Da Vinci Code at the new Cathay CIneplex. Our show was being screened at The Grand Cathay cinema, and boy, was it grand. The seats were super super plushy, spacious and comfortable, so much so tt I almost dozed off at some point in time. The decor was also super grand and pretty, and the cinema was so big that it felt more like a concert hall to me. Must go for movies there next time! The seats alone are worth the money. =D
Da Vinci Code the movie. Hmm, the essence is all in the book I would say. The movie was OK. It's just moving scenes from the book to the screen. It's hard to capture the essence of the book in the movie as the movie will be super lengthy if they were to explain many of the underlying meanings behind the paintings, the codes etc. Oh, and the transition between scenes were quite awkward. Not as bad as what I have heard, but not very very impressive either. But still, it's nice to see the scenes come to life for those who have read the book.
No work tml! haha! I can wake up late! Wee~

Damn. I feel like a pig now. Had been pigging out with my colleagues both today and yesterday.
I guess it's a form of celebration cos so many of them are tendering their resignation! Haha. =)
Anyway, 4 of us went to Subway at Jurong Point yesterday and we ordered four 12-inch sandwiches and made the staff cut them into 4 parts each so tt we each could try 4 flavours! I guess we sort of held up the queue. And yar, we took the set meals and as they exclaimed, "I have never ever paid so much for roti in my life." We were like superbloated after the meal. But *yum* anyway.
We decided to have dinner together again today and we pigged out on dumplings, roasted pork, chicken, duck and charsiew! Awfully sinful I would say, but who cares? Who doesn't love good food?
OOhhhh. The Great Singapore Sale has started! Time to hit the shopping malls!

What a day!
Went to JB with Jinx, TS & Yuf! And our outfits were damn coordinated! *lol* The queue at the customs was super duper long! We were stuck there for more than an hour, thanx to a super efficient custom officer who was flipping through and stamping passports at a snail's pace. But in between, we kept ourselves amused by being super lame and crappy I guess. lol.
I think City Square is a nice place to shop and hang out. Diden really explore it thoroughly the last time I went there. Just realised that there are many nice shops there. =) I think we spent all our money on food today(plus dvds), but it's worth it cos' it's much cheaper than S'pore's, even for places like Kenny Roger's and Secret Recipe. I really ate a lot. Shit.
And those 2 guys were damn slutty, much to Jinx's and my amusement. The slutty faces and weird orgasmic noises. *sigh* I think we went mad, photo-whoring like crazy and taking stupid videos (i can't bear to watch).Haha.
We only went to City Square, but it was already 7 something by the time we were done with dinner at Secret Recipe. We walked all the way across the causeway to the S'pore customs, like what we did in the morning and the walk back took more than an hour due to us stopping after every 10 steps to do some photo-whoring. Haha.
Lesson learnt: Never ever go to JB on a public holiday

A long weekend ahead of us! Whooppeeeee!
I had been rather busy this week (or had I been busy every week?). LOL.
Went for the Firefly STB scholarship interview on Monday. There's one more round before they decide whether to award you the scholarship or not. So many rounds. I am going crazy. But, ohoh, out of the 3 interviewers, 2 were guys and they were damn CUTE! Not old, balding executives, but 2 really young and cute guys. If they thought I looked really eager and enthusiastic, I really was, but the subject of my interest is another matter. :)
And there was the Nanyang Scholarship interview yesterday. And being adventurous and thrifty, I decided to walk from home (I live near NTU btw) to the Student Services Centre, where the interview was conducted. The panel was all guys, and one of them was Darryl David, the news presenter! The professors were all very very amiable and nice, so it doesn't feel like an interview at all! As usual, I talked a lot of crap and yar, kept on smiling like an idiot.
And yes, I walked home after that before going out again for the steamboat dinner at Marina with the gang.
We were super bloated by the time we finished eating, so we decided to walk all the way from the steamboat area to the MRT station. Haha, had fun avoiding cockroaches and singing Lee Hom's songs along the way. Love you guys! lol.
My parents are super on! They agreed to let me stay in hall during Yr1, or at least 1st semester! Cool! I am crazy I know, cos I live super near NTU, but still, living in hall is a once in a lifetime experience! :D
Life rocks! Or am I very easily contented? Haha.

(Part of) Singapore Votes 2006! Had been watching the results from 10 till now. It would have been more exciting if there had not been a walkover in my constituency. At least I will have rallies to attend. Just look at the map. Haha, the western half was completely in white even before polling. I dun think I will ever get to vote in my lifetime unless I move to the eastern or northern parts of Singapore. =)
Went to catch MI3 with Ade, Wilson (*whacks*) & zy today. Quite an exciting show I would say. My eyes were glued to the screen throughout the whole show. Some bits were kind of ridiculous though, like Tom Cruise being "pounded" back to life. -_- And Maggie Q was damn hot! So was Tom Cruise. =)
And seems like the whole world was out today! Saw yr, zx, junyi, mx & qf, aks all in one day.
OOhhhhh. I bought tix to JJ's concert already! Woohoo! Counting down to 24th June! JJ, HERE I COME!!!!!!!! =)

Busy weekend ahead!
And busy week ahead!
Mon: STB scholarship interview
Wed: NTU scholarship interview plus steamboat dinner
So that means I'll be working for only 2.5 days next week, which spells less money! *boo*
I can't sit still! Have been making lots of plans for June and July too. I shall quit my job in mid-june! They should give me a "Most permanent temp staff" award. 6 months leh! Some permanent staff left after 2 or 3 mths while I am still slogging my guts out (ok, a bit of an exaggeration here) for the company. Haha, they even want me to stay until July lah. I was like "No way!".
And haha, the people-up-there had been super super nice to me. Scared I run away ah? *evil grin* Die, I getting ya-ya liao. LOL. Oh and recently there's 1 or 2 young, cute, well-educated and loaded 'big fishes' swimming around in the office. But heard that they are either married or getting engaged. *haix*
Seems like the whole world is going to NTU! =) At least I'll be seeing familiar faces which I want to see. Wee~
